IMods were bad for the game at their initial powerlevel, get over it lol.
That's cool that more characters SEEMED viable, but it pretty much ruined character individuality and the meta heroes still shined stronger. Top clan and many others banded together to protest mod changes because we were smart enough to see the big picture and how damaging mods were. You can thank us for saving the game :)
If mods were released at their current power level initially, I think we'd see very little complaining period. Some of you are just so attached to the absurd power spike you got and hard to let it go.
It also wasn't ideal for EA to do things the way they did, I admit, but without removing mods completey, I think they chose the best route, the vast majority thinks so.
The changes were made to serve the greater good of the greater majority, I'm sorry some of you have such problems with that, but again, you can thank us for saving the game.
Your statement is void. If anything it made the characters abilities even more important to a squad strategy.- How about a medium between yesterdays stats and today's stats?
Not as insignificant mod-stats as they are today, but also not as powerful stats as they were yesterday? - Thanks a bunch for making me Google hyperbole

The mods were overpowered. You can't just introduce such a big change in a game in such a short period. All that grinding we did over past few months was for nothing. I think it's way better the way it is now. To those saying **** toons were now viable, I honestly don't think so. They would have been viable until people start to catch up. By the way, in a competitive game, you always have tiers to sort toons. Even in games that tend (or pretend) to achieve balance, you can't (look at mobas for instance).
I will only agree on a single point, that it was definitely a scam to release the mods in their original state. I'm still unsure if it was intended or if marketing team just ****ed up.
No conspiracy here.....just a big ol' mistake. They got excited about a new idea for the game and just didn't think it through or beta it enough (and who among us hasn't done that before?) This probably cost them a few of their mega whale players. Certainly not a consequence they wanted.- So to everbody that liked the mods that were way overpowered and made all previous gear obsolete, how much time and money did you spend maxing out ten toons for arena and raids? Did it turn your weak team into a powerhouse that could now destroy people's team that were 6 months old?
How do you think people that were on top felt when all their work was made obsolete overnight? My personal feeling was (can't say it, not appropriate here). "Alexone;561660" wrote:

Yeah. Sorry that people who have already invested months (and for many considerable money) didn't agree with having the game "reset" for the convenience of new players and EA shareholders.
The game does not continue without new players.
The game continues with people spending money. Messing with proven spenders for the sake of potential new spenders is at best risky.
Exactly. Also, from a business standpoint, you want new people to want to catch up, but not by giving them OP mods where they can do it in 48hrs. You want them to spend $$ to catch up. That's how it works.
No one is catching up in 48 hours. Takes a lot longer than that to level to 80 last I checked.
And by the way, they still have the Omega system in place to make sure no one ever truly catches up to the early arrivals.
Its called "exaggeration". Most people that loved it were people that landed some good mods and were able to skyrocket in arena amongst people that put in months of grinding to get there. I get that. It's awesome for them. Now, they will go back to where they should be and have to get those Nubian Design Techs and Droid Callers like everyone else did.
People claim it was great under the guise of diversity. Please. That's a fantasy. People seem to think over time they would start seeing some of the garbage toons dominating arena thanks to mods. Nope. You would see teams with heavily modded RGs and Reys. Why mod junk toons when you can just make the best ones even better?
Should've seen Kit Fisto with Ima Gun di lead imo. All jedi team running on average 90k hp. Kit fisto was doing normals for 8k and attacking twice in a row. Didn't check his crit damage. But you're wrong here.
There were reports of Reys hitting for 100K on Flury. Reports of Rey one shotting unmodded RGs. I saw someone say their Leia was hitting for around 20K for a single shot. Yes. Weaker toons got stronger, but at the same time, the strong got even stronger.
I see what your saying, but we will just have to agree to disagree. I don't believe the Meta would have shifted much at all.
Rey hitting 100k on flurry was a blatant lie. I didn't have the best mods out there but i fought someone who had the best offense mods and the most she did was 58k. About Leia mine was doing 17k for one shot so i guess that is possible. I think the meta would have shifted a lot in time. Now all that is over and it's all back just like it was before. Whatever.
Your probably right on the 100K. I didn't see it myself, just heard some people reporting it, but 60K is still crazy. And if she proc's an extra hit? I don't know. Just a difference in opinions, I guess.- Pretty sure mods just worked off of you base stats which are based on your gear...so "invalidating gear" is rather a bit of a straw man IMO.
Even the solid stat numbered ones just added to what you had already. The percentage based ones, the same. And that's where the diversity could have come into play the most. And the set bonuses being nerfed to, as batman brought up, is a bit of a slap in the face as well. Made them more worthwhile to farm sets and level them. "V1p3rdyn4sty;561736" wrote:
The mods were awesome. Now they are weak and useless. I guess you all liked furnaces and scanners and nubian design tech and Droid callers so much. Now you got them.... again...
We didn't necessarily like them but we sure as hell spent a lot of time and/or money getting them. Had we known that the mod update would've made all that a complete waste, maybe we wouldn't have bothered.
I feel for the people who spent lots of credits on mods to then see them nerfed, I'm no fan of that, but I felt more for the people who'd spent 6+ months grinding their backsides off for gear only to see it practically nullified at the push of a button.- NotRealUltra9 years agoSeasoned Newcomeri liked the mods before they were nerfed. It introduced lots of possibilities and synergies for characters who are otherwise not worth spending time and credits on. Now its back to the boring old gear farming that takes forever to do.
Like i don't mind the nerf the mods got its the set bonuses nerf that bugs me a lot. They nerfed the bonuses down to 1/3rd or 1/4th and its hardly worth pursuing anymore
I'll live with it but meh. "DarkCokeBlower;561845" wrote:
Mods need to give flat numbers and not percent. Any percent of zero is zero. My protection mods are worthless, and I am not about to level and gear up Leia and Yoda, I was having fun being able to use them in GW and missions at level fifty with mods now it's back to using my arena team for everything.
Or just scrap mods and make gear assignable and add the ability to unequip.
