The 5-star Era milestone is smoke and mirrors

I want to share feedback on the Era Level material economy, based on a full investment across the entire Era.

My goal for this Era was to bring the 5 core Era characters as well as the Legendary character (Rotta the Hutt) to 5 stars, and push their Era Level toward the stated Relic 4 + Zeta milestone (Era Level 125), which is the achievable limit with 5-star characters. I did reach 5 stars on all 6 characters (Rotta included), which required consistent and rigorous resource planning over the full 3 months.

The problem: once at 5 stars, actually pushing Era Level past 110 (short of the Relic 4/Zeta tier that the 5-star cap implies) requires Era materials that, as far as I can tell, are not obtainable through any free source, nor even at a moderate cost. The only apparent way to close that gap is buying material packs priced at several tens of dollars, or pushing Era characters to 7 stars, which is also out of reach with the resources I have available.

This creates a real disconnect: the star-tier system communicates 3/4/5-star caps as directly tied to Gear 12/13/Relic-Zeta outcomes, but in practice the free material inflow doesn't keep up to reach the top of that range. Players who plan their Era around the stated milestones (as I did, in good faith) end up falling short despite doing everything asked of them. This gap wasn't even something we could have anticipated, since in the previous Era all materials were given out for free, and the tiers changed again compared to the Era before that.

My request: please review the free material inflow at the higher Era Level brackets (110+), so that the stated 5-star/Relic-Zeta milestone is ACTUALLY ACHIEVABLE as implied, not just the base 110 tier. If the intent is for the higher tiers to require spending, and if the real limit is actually affordable materials rather than star count as communicated, that's a legitimate design choice, but it should be clearly communicated upfront rather than discovered after months of investment. It's frankly shameful to dangle rewards like this in front of players when they turn out to be smoke and mirrors. Thank you for reading this, I hope it will be taken into account for the planning of future Eras, and even in acknowledging the investment I made that is now going to waste.

As things stand, I will never again farm an Era to Relic 5 — it's simply too costly for no actual result.

  • You don't need rigourous planning to get all to 5*. All it takes is one 5900 crystal pack per new character.

Also while the reward rug pull isnt nice, 5* being able to get to E125 does not mean it will get you there. For all that planning you've made an incorrect assumption.

I’m struggling in the Mark VI cores, and that’s just to move Commander Snowman up to 110, let alone 120 for the final tier of the event.

Firstly, it's not just one 5900 crystal pack. It's one 5900 pack plus one 1299 pack — IF YOU'RE LUCKY ENOUGH – often more.

Secondly, having 8k crystals every two weeks just to fully upgrade a Marquee character is already a challenge on its own, on top of using crystals for Conquest/Cantina energy refresh, and everything else. Expecting players to also cover pack costs on top of that isn't reasonable without results.

Thirdly, how does it make any sense that a player who spent over 40k crystals across the Era ends up at the exact same level as a player who spent 0?

Lastly, how can you blame ME for making an "incorrect assumption" when that's exactly what the system appeared to communicate — especially when previous Eras never let anyone notice this issue in the first place, simply because they were all bugged?

Completely agree.  I have purchased the 12 card pull for each toon and I'm going to end up with two of them not even g12 because I assumed that 110 for every toon would be achievable if you got them to six star after their weeks were over.

As for luck in the pulls, even if you get all 7 shard pulls, you are one shard short of 6* by the end of the week.  So you have to dodge the 5 shard pulls and luck out with at least one over 7.

The complete communication blackout makes it even more infuriating.  What also really sucks is I have Snow stuck at level 106, preventing me from getting Rotta to 6 star.  If I had known about the lack of material, I certainly wouldn't have taken several of the other toons to 110.  Even if I buy packs with crystals, it will take 12 to 13 packs at 1099 a pop to get the missing mk6 besh material that I need to get Snow to 110.

Completely horrible change and a truly greedy screw job by CG/EA this time around.

I agree with this. I think the math was done incorrectly by CG when establishing the qty of era gear pieces given for snow trooper. The reason I say this is because some of the pieces, I have in excess of 6k. But all my toons are at 110. I couldn't spend mk6 if I wanted to at this point.  But the episode track had mk6....not mk7.  My point is...why give excessive gear for the era? You can't keep it or spend it. I think it was miscalculated.

Not defending CG or anything but Star requirements are because of the implied Relic level and you must have that many stars for the relic level
