Lock-outs. not just 1 person, but collusion lock-outsThere is almost no counter, and they are annoying. The best solution to this, that was discussed in a huge thread back around QoL, was that you get rewards for the top rank you hit that day, but CG hated that idea for some reason...$$

I don't think it will help. I don't have anyone else in the top 50 with the same payout as me, so it is easy to take #1. Lately this guy has been trying to block me at payout (fighting me just to be a dick before my payout) but he has a rebel team and almost never beats me.I don't know how it can be changed, without taking away the competitive aspect of the game.

Well, ideally everyone would take a reward for the highest rank they reached that day. However, EA wants to limit the number of people to take the rank 1 rewards each day. Probably to promote crystal sales.If someone is willing to take fifteen minutes out of their day to get the extra crystals (and stop others from getting rewards), I call that competition.

1. Reduce rewards, allows way more top finishes by my suggestions below and doesn't break the "economies" 2. Get rid of tiered rankings for awards. Keep the ranks and rank swapping just to keep more equal teams near each other but being a certain rank at a specific 1 second time means nothing for payout. 3. Make payout reward tiers equal to winning x number of arena battles between resets vs x ranked opponents. Example win 4 battles vs top 10 teams and you get maxed payout. Win 3 vs top 10 opponents you get next tier of payout. Until they get rid of being a specific rank for that one moment in time lockouts will always be a part of arena.

This is the real meta, and it needs a nerf

Yeah locking up is just part of the competitive part, and it's even easier to do in groups or with guildmates.

The actual current meta is just rng. Mods don't matter, gear (relatively) doesn't matter, and all you need is Zaul or rex to apparently beat any comp.

I see people snipe at all levels or collude even when they arent number one. It happens and will continue to happen unless something inherently changes (which it likely won't)

No one would bother with arena if the rewards were any less. I know I wouldn't.

There's no reason to change it. What's wrong with communication? This thread seems to be about the OP being mad that he isn't communicating with his shardmates. The best thing I did in this game was find my shardmates and communicate on payouts so I don't have to stay glued to my phone for the 30 mins before payout.

Yep I'm a huge perpetrator of this. Me and a guild mate have a super crowded payout that we lock out at the top. Usually 7 or 8 of the top 10 will be at this same payout, so super crowded. Locking out is better than anything you can do squad wise.
