I'm not sure the OP is arguing about how accessible the new characters are. It's more about (I think) the follow on events. So we now have 2 new mini events that you can only take Inqs and Hutts.
For me the amount of things rolled behind Inqs feels like an in house joke at our expense. 'We know they're not popular so how about we give you more!!'
This feels like a precedent to me.
As for the most recent Journey characters; I like how they're filling a void between GLs and what is lower. I really dislike how GLs screw the tiers.
Or it could be that a tremendous amount of time, planning, and preparation when in to building new content and new factions for the game and the nature of the development cycle doesn't allow them to just scrap everything that they spent months working on and months rolling out.
I honestly don't get all the hate for inquisitors - I do wish they were a stronger faction but that aside, people right here on the forums have been asking for inquisitors for a LONG time before they came to the game - all the way back to when Phoenix was introduced. You can't blame CG for thinking that people would be excited about Inquisitors and be happy about using them in the game. That doesn't feel like a joke to me - that feels like CG giving players what they asked for and then being raked over the coals for doing so.
