TW Sandbagging

This is a bit ridiculous. It's amusing how my guild members aren't entirely upset about the fact that we can't do anything to win. Clear sandbagging, even F1 or any sport has officials and regulations to keep fair play. (My thoughts, but I can definitely see why it's enticing to see some absolutely juiced players) To some, it feels like blatant doping and unfair matching. CG has a terrible matching algorithm for TW... 13mil player average (31 participants) vs 11.05 player average (41 participants, my guild).  Why do we have to match defenses to their number of players? When clearly, they have all the power in the world for their offensive attack? I mean, I'd love an explanation. I can be back for more details, but knowing this matchup (after experiencing this more than I'd like), they will all have level 9 datacrons and top-level defensive teams that we can't beat. Like why? Is it too many variables for CG to handle? Don't just want to complain, but this system they have is simply rudimentary.

In the photos I included, I erased the information that clearly states the names and discords. I do not want hate sent towards either. But I wanted to keep the actual guild stats intact so that everybody can see the difference.

I am in a 500m gp guild, with a 10.4m avg gp, we were recently matched with a 650m GP guild with a 13m avg GP, they had done a full clear within 4 hours. Something definitely has to be done to address sandbagging.

  • I think most guilds have been there. Because of work or travel (or apathy) we usually get 40-43 participants. Sometimes we get matched against a guild with great participation getting 50 - and it feels to them like we are sandbagging. I know there are guilds that intentionally run 30 (and force sit 20) and that really doesn’t feel like the spirit of the game- but even with that aside the matchmaking feels like it delivers a lopsided match two thirds of the time (at least) and maybe a competitive battle in only one third of the TWs.

I think the body of your email is finding fault with the algorithm and the rules as opposed to sandbagging. Is it better than the previous version of matchmaking? I think so?
I am worried that Relic delta will make sandbagging more popular as those high relic defensive teams will be harder for smaller guilds to displace.
