Ugh... Chaze

I don't understand how a blind, wannabe Jedi and a hulking dude with a machine gun were made into the best healer and tank in the game. They have about 8 words of dialogue between them in a little side story before being killed off and the devs make them better than the main characters from the main storyline. I don't think the people who make this game have ever actually watched any of it. Yes. I'm complaining. I don't care. lol Rant over.

oh i don't doubt the chinese market is not a primary for a game like this. But it's one of those things that for long term strategy, no game or movie company will ignore at this point.

Star wars as a franchise is not particularly well known in China. So by %, i'm sure no more than 5% of this game's audience would be from over there, if that much. However, my point remains. To Chinese players, Chaze may actually be a fan favorite, and they're much more willing to shell out $ for it, as opposed to all the characters from the original Trilogy that never even opened in that country.

And I actually do think this game is popular in more places than the US. in my own shard when i look at top 50, just based on people's or guild's names, i see Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, etc, all in the mix. All the non English ones may be only total 40%, but it's definitely not just played by people whose primary language is English even, much less US.

Tho back OP's original point. I think Chaze is still limited by the fact that at least Chirrut is not particularly effective by himself. I run Baze by himself and he does his job. But Chirrut without Baze would be easy pickings. So from a game design point of view, I think it's mostly luck that the synergy between the two turned out to be so effective.

To be fair, i don't remember Biggs and Wedge that well from the original trilogy either, and that combo also had its day
  • I don't mind playing chaze, you just need a lot of dispel's. Though it's incredibly annoying for teams without many dispellers... Sun Fac works well.

I think that those guys deserve a BIG NERF they are Broken
  • Fighting Chaze is easy, and this is coming from a Chaze user. You just ignore them. Especially ignore Chirrut. Take out the other 3. Then always take Baze out first. Then Chirrut is last and easy pickings. This might mean not using AoE attacks. You don't want Chirrut losing protection. It's really not a hard duo to deal with. The only time I'll focus on Chirrut earlier is if Annihilate is charged up and he's toast. Also Boba's execute can insta kill Chirrut easy
  • if the issue is just people having problem with beating Chaze.... then the most direct solution is simple. zKylo

on a triple cleanse team, as long as DN's dead, pretty sure my zKylo can 1v4 against rex, GK, and Chaze combined....

the tricky part is how to kill DN first, but most likely second after GK. Personally I've had battles with GK at most of his health, and Chaze definitely both at at least full health, and still win with just zKylo. those 3 combined do not do enough enough DPS in one turn to make a dent into zKylo.

hardly seems overpowered when one f2p toon can handle them. Chaze is definitely powerful, but there're plenty of direct counters.

You are right unless they got to see a pre release they did not watch the movie when they designed these characters.
    Baze/chirrut released 11/14/2016
    Rogue one movie release 12/16/2016
  • Lol, the whole Star wars franchise is based in Japanese samurai stories (jedai geki anyone?). Even chirrut is based in zatoichi.
