Umbaran Starfighter Fives Ship Gains Purple Protection when Countering

If he was gaining it each time he attacked, it would be due to running Ackbar lead.

See post title. I was in a ship arena battle and the opponent used darth maul's Scimitar to stealth everyone and put the counter ability on Umbaran/5's. Every time I hit Umbaran, he countered and then gained purple protection. I can't figure out what ability grants this?

It's a combination of Maul's retribution and Snackbar's unique that grants protection up everytime someone attacks out of turn. You need to dispel that retribution when under an Ackbar capital ship or you'll never get anywhere.

I use this tactic all the time but with my Biggs. Maul grants stealth to everyone except Biggs. Biggs gets retribution. When attacked, Biggs gains protection up with Ackbar lead and if Biggs puts lock on to his target which is very likely, he also recovers permanent protection and taunt. It's very brutal. If I pull this off, it's a guaranteed win unless Biggs get's dispelled.

thanks guys. he was running ackbar lead, and i wasn't referring to the intial protection he gains after scimitar's special is used. and yes, the damage placed on umbaran was less than the protection he gained, so he was getting stronger every time I attacked him!
