Everyone is dying for a gear shop like the shard shop. Having Unkar is a great idea for movie tie in that makes sense.

I'd be ok with the trade ins being crappy because any amount of useful gear is better than a billion pieces of useless gear.

Yes, let's get a trading shop, so we can exchange unnecessary gear for shards or gear that we actually want/need. Unkar's Trading Post would be a great name for it.

Unkar is not going to trade you gear or parts for salvage, he's just going to give you rations.

Maybe the rations can be used to recover hp in battle.....

Yeah, I think someone floated the idea of Watto's junk yard for gear. But maybe Unkar could be used in Galactic war as a shop for rations to regain hp or protection
