Fair enough. That's why I don't mention the actual battles but the opponents. Capeoira is impressive, more than MMA. People could debate on which one is more efficient in some kind of real fight, I guess it won't necessarely be the one with the cool moves.
One thing to mention. I don't know if this has any affect on the debate but the original trilogy was made in the late 1970s to early 1980s. The graphics in the movies might not be as good back then so they might not have been able to show Vader doing really cool moves.
Stiil, he lost. So he didn't demonstrate his skills.
Although Vader lost to Luke, Luke is a very powerful Jedi and Vader (in ROTJ) was able to have a pretty decent battle with him.
Yeah, the old guy thing was part of a joke. I guess not a very good one.
Vader should be able to choke regular people as easy as old guys because if someone is choking, they can't breathe or do anything else.
Fair enough. Still impressive
Also, Rey didn't really smash a starship, it looked more like a cargo carrier that was used to carry prisoners.Rey also had significantly less training than Vader so Vader would be more experienced.
The important when we compare "who's the strongest ?" is what they do, not what they learnt. Vader was more experienced than Luke in ROTJ, he still lost.
That's true, very valid point. Maybe it was more show than skill on their part. But she also fought alone and outnumbers Palpatine elite guards and won. That's something. The question is: are Palpatine elite guards better than young luke in a fight ? I don't know.
Granted, Rey was able to defeat Snoke's guards but, the guards don't know how to wield a lightsaber and, they don't have any force powers to go with their decent weapon skills.
In the movies: Vador can choke and use his cyberhands as Wonder Woman Bracelets, Rey can shoot lightning, use mind trick, teleport object (only to Kylo, so a little lame) and heal. Both can use telepathy and move stuff. I vote Rey.
Force Powers: Equal
Agree, but irrelevant
Experience: Vader
If you're absolutely sure that Young Luke after an internship in Dagobah is stronger than a group of Palpatine guards. I give you the benefit of the doubt and offer a tie on this one.
Swordsmanship: Vader by a tiny bit
I hope I managed to at least give you some doubt considering Rey's overall power in the movies. (A lot of) people may not like it, but Rey is a very, very strong character in the movies (and it's actually why a lot of people didn't like her. Because she was so strong, even stronger than a Skywalker, for no apparent reason). So having her very, very strong in the game is not totally irrelevant. She not as iconic as Vador (by far), and having a strong Vador is totally ok, I agree on this point though.
You should definitely be looking into other forms of media if you want to compare powers. Comparing swordsmanship and big force abilities from the old movie to the new ones is hardly fair at all. Even in the new ones Rey's saber skills suck, Adam Driver looked a lot more comfortable doing the choreography. Most of the prequel actors did a better job than her, by a lot also lol. All Rey did was jump around.- perfidius446 years agoRising Newcomer

The personal guards of the Supreme Leader of the Galaxy are not good just because of who they are. It just means they just did not find someone better, as the Emperor Guards, who Yoda switched off with a Force pull. If you watch the fight closely, mostly in the beginning but also after, they danced around for choreography, and then attacked mostly 1 vs 1.
Yep, good point. I answered it in the post just above ;) - Please nerf Vader
- bruh who likes rey. Vader is super powerful. I mean he was Darth Vader in Revenge of the sith.

Revenge allows us to compare Vader and Rey power using one scene:
In Revenge, Darth Vader (the guy in the suit) do one impressive thing as Darth Vader: free himself from the chackles that binded him to a table (and scream Noooooo). To free herself from the chackles binding her to a table in TFA, Rey used mind trick on a stormtrooper (but didn't scream afterwards). Different style but same outcome. A tie. - Gabe98765432106 years agoSeasoned VeteranI see no super big deal with a random easy toon (Vader) being better than a super hard to get toon (like the GLs). It's a little inconsistent from a financial point of view, but it makes for a more interesting and perhaps healthier game. It's fun when an "underdog" finds a way to win.
It's not like the people who have the GLs skipped Vader. A roster with Vader and both GLs must surely be better than a roster with only Vader? I think the real problem is the importance put on regular Arena and on one particular best team at any point in time.
I'm sure if Vader is now the top toon, in a month they will have introduced something else that shifts the balance again, perhaps back to a GL based team. You just gotta catch 'em all. - kiar14046 years agoNew Spectatorremember GG-nuke ... old chars counter new DR/Malak
remeber CLS ... very old chars counter GAS
but always the counters where very weak on defense ... so what - Ok there are a few expectations when you purchase a new legendary, here's journey, or Galactic legend.
1. They will be meta for around 6 months or so. (Though we'd with two at a time this expectation would b we'd that they would be able to get first but not necessarily meta)
2. They will remain pretty competitive in arena for around 6 months after that.
3. They were will likely have continued use in other areas of the game and be decent for years to come.
That's pretty much what to expect. I don't see where that is any different were with Galactic Legends than with another new character type.
And Rey came out around December. Last I checked she was still at the top of most arena shards.
Even if the vader rework is part of a meta shift and it might be, people have had Rey to play with for 6 months. Ep got a rework and shifted the towards the sith but it wasn't really complete until sion and later trays became available.
Hopefully, the pattern is followed and the next meta is a new game mode reward. If that's the case, then Rey and Kylo will likely be important to have for it so people that bought them will likely get the next meta too. - Wtf, where are his ever dots?
toons have ever dots? "ir21tiny;c-2134541" wrote:
