I don't think it's a coincidence that all of a sudden people are complaining about the omi not working. The bug might not be present 100% of the time (maybe there are some conditions that have to be met?), but something is definitely broken. My Wampa is r7 with godlike mods, and I've previously beaten any MM, GG, Iden teams (even full r8 with strong datacrons) without problems, and sometimes even on auto. But since last week or so my Wampa has been struggling vs those teams. I even almost lost against a MM team that didn't even have everyone at relics. Usually I don't even need a datacron to beat full r7 teams with L9 datacrons. If you use Wampa so many times against the same teams, you can immediately see if something unusual happens. It really feels like something with the additional stats that the omicron provides is wrong. Going from being able to auto full r7 teams with L9 datacrons and good mods to struggling vs g12 teams and bad mods has nothing to do with rng, that's just impossible. I haven't changed my Wampa's mods or relic levels in ages, so nothing changed on my side. And I usually don't even need datacrons to win against those teams, so that can't be the issue too. There is definitely something wrong. All of this isn't just a coincidence. People wouldn't suddenly complain about the omicron not working for no reason. A small percentage of those cases might indeed be because of kit oversights, because of under-/overestimating Wampa or the enemy teams, or because of very specific datacrons, but I'm sure some people's complaints are justified because the omicron might indeed be bugged. I hope they look into it very soon.
