What economy changes?
The State of the Galaxy post says We’ve already mentioned some bigger changes coming to the economy Well, what economy changes? I don't remember any posts about changes to the economy.

The shear number of stores and currencies is a classic sign of a badly managed in game economy. Each new mode seems to brings it’s own currency and often store too, which is another bad sign.
It could be that this mess is the economy they are trying to do something with. Which they absolutely should - problem is it’s generally impossible or nigh on so at this stage in the lifecycle.
If they are planning more game modes though this may well be needed in advance of those.
I believe in the pod cast this was stated to be more about the new players, so what some older players consider meaningless, may not be #1 priority. if that is their focus, they are more likely to dig in further and bring more stuff into the shard shop, as that is the unifying factor for all stores (that have shards), and maybe lock more stores.
