What economy changes?

i'm hoping we get gear as rewards for events again instead of titles, portrait (ew) and only shards

Reducing the crystal cost of purple gear by like 50%, while leaving the rest of the prices the same would help immensely. Double the drop rate of purple gear on nodes too for consistency.

Credits, guild tokens, arena tokens and galactic war tokens have all become meaningless for all older players.

The cantina, shard and guild event stores are the only stores with anything meaningful.

The shear number of stores and currencies is a classic sign of a badly managed in game economy. Each new mode seems to brings it’s own currency and often store too, which is another bad sign.

It could be that this mess is the economy they are trying to do something with. Which they absolutely should - problem is it’s generally impossible or nigh on so at this stage in the lifecycle.

If they are planning more game modes though this may well be needed in advance of those.

Strongly disagree. Can never have enough shard shop currency. Also, do have you so much gear that you don't need anything from the guild store?

I believe in the pod cast this was stated to be more about the new players, so what some older players consider meaningless, may not be #1 priority. if that is their focus, they are more likely to dig in further and bring more stuff into the shard shop, as that is the unifying factor for all stores (that have shards), and maybe lock more stores.

I believe this can still be new player focused. My fairly new alt is already at the point where several stores are offering nothing of use to me, and everything now goes into the shard shop.

As suggested above, rolling some currencies together and having one store (with more relevant characters) for them would could be better for new players than the current stores which offer a lot of characters that new players would find tempting to pour recources into, but which are mostly gumph.

That is the purpose and design of the system.

They are not likely to make a different system to do the same thing, that they already have established. They have a funneling point to a very useful store. The only "failing" of the current system is its a little tedious, and i feel like the shard shop could use some new stuff, and/or more slots for stuff to show up.

Shard communication to maximize player payouts is a good thing. The only people who have issues with them are people who refuse to join them or those who choose to disregard everyone else's payout times. Arena is entirely different than GAC.
1) Its not dependent on matchuo algorithms - you choose who to fight on arena.
2) If rng doesn't go your way in arena or your game crashes, you simply attack again.
3) If you why better rewards in arena (abs aren't at 1 already) you can simply refresh Ave get 5 more chances.

So, to answer your first question - yes, arena is VERY different than GAC. If they ever pull a significant number of crystals out of arena and into GAC, that would be the worst thing they've ever done to this game.

This doesnt seem like its in the plans, as we have heard nothing about it since it was kind of mentioned. This seems like it would be a touchy subject for a lot of players and they probably thought best to avoid a very community breaking change.

The idea I see in a similar vein to this that could work, would be, not necessarily a change from one to the other, but an increased income from GAC. much like when they added ships and offered a new path to earn a decent amount of crystals. This would fall in line with economy changes, as an increased crystal income could help alleviate some of the gear stress, and lessen the need for other more drastic gear changes.

Really? Match fixing is considered a bad thing in virtually any type of competitive game, and that's exactly what shard chats bring. If match fixing is a usual and completely uncontrollable thing it's the clear indicator of broken PvP system.

its not a usual thing. so we are safe. There are a lot of groups that are not mafias, and are in no way exclusive, they are just trying to maximize POs through not stepping on others as they climb.

also, you should look at many competitive racing scenarios. There are plenty of examples that this exact thing, planned drafting and other "agreements" that allow competitors to get ahead of a group or stay ahead and then sort out the rest later.

Distribution of top ranks in GAC is even worse than arena (at least what concerns leaderboards) so hopefully it never happens or not until they do a touch up for GAC.

In arena you always need a recent meta decently geared, or at least a proper counter to it. In GAC you can just ignore adding relics after r0 altogether and never or very rarely face real competition. Giving out top rewards for not upgrading your roster shouldn't be encouraged even more by awarding crystals.

Did they specifically say that they intended to move crystal income away from arena and into other areas?

I think they are already making moves to shift the focus from arena in other ways:

Want zetas? You can’t buy them with crystals - focus on your fleet.

Want GAS or Malak? You need GET for them, crystals won’t do it.

Want to slice up your mods? Better focus on GC because you can’t get those other slicing mats otherwise.

Crystals are no longer the only viable currency in the game and focus on only arena is not sufficient to keep pace.
