What's everyone's thoughts about booting players during TB?

My guild is a TB focus guild (all commands on Discord, 600/day required, raid 24/0 rule, CMW minimums, CMWs done by cutoff time then deploy later etc.)

We have a player (I'm not gonna name him/her) who hasn't been on discord for days, deploys before deployment time, and doesnt listen. It's been like that every day for this TB. In fact, due to excess deployment in a territory he cost us 1 star.

Hence, we are kicking him after he's done with his CMs/deploy for Phase Six but before rewards.

Just curious, but what's everyone's thoughts on kicking players on day 6 TB like this?

Hey SeaDog ... this player's name wouldn't have something to do with a Wolf, would it?

Booting a member mid-TB is, of course, not the optimal solution. But here's the thing: the guild probably has a few players that already want to circumvent the rules, and they might already be doing so to a small extent. Then some fool comes in and flagrantly violates every rule in the guild, ignoring all warnings or attempts to communicate. They break the guild strategy so completely that the others begin to follow suit. The whole business can very quickly spiral out of control. I have seen it. In some cases, you have no choice but to remove the instigator before they can do irreparable damage to the guild atmosphere.

In Wolf's case, you boot him and hope he learns his lesson. But he won't, he will just move to another guild and ignore all their rules, too.

Nope not wolf. But I admit the person made everyone unhappy and we specifically laid rules before TB so ah well, he saw it coming

He was our lowest contributor anyways. As part of an alliance we aren't short on members, and our guild enforces strict TB participation as we're one of the "TB focus" guilds.

We have a hitlist, 2 strikes and you'll be demoted to a "TB lax" guild after TB. He messed up and cost us a star, and also didnt respond in game or in discord. He had a total of 5 strikes before we kicked him.

That's all good reasons to kick him but I see no good reason for doing it before he collected his rewards.
  • I'd have no issue booting him when an infraction occurred regardless of where you are in TB. However to purposely wait for him to contribute and then kick him is pretty devious and underhanded. Wait one more day and then kick him.
  • You are not being nasty at all. If they are not listening or paying attention to you then boot them. If you want to punish them by denying them rewards, fair enough.
  • If you use his GP, or anybody his contributios, even though you lost 1*, it's best to part ways after TB as he still earned it.

I totally agree with you as a TB coordinator in a TB focused guild. People not checking discord or ingame chat after being called out several times while still playing and not following directions should be booted asap, still booting before rewards is a jerk move, but your frustration is understandable.
