I understand, hope for the best prepare for the worst, but why assume that after the 3 months it will only ever be here once a month. They very specifically worded it for the possibility to be more often and gave an outer limit for the busier times when other events might come up.
There is also a comment about the new flash event being geared towards a rough timeline that will resemble farming a piece from a node.
All of this leads me to think they will have it be more available then once a month. Will it be comparable to a hard node, who knows, but will it be 2 years. No it will not.
Just trying to out a little hope for the best in this thread. (Rebellions are built on hope, and we know how much everyone loves rebels)
I got you, and we can hope - but is the event going to be weekly? Of course not, and once a month is the outer limit?
Say it's every 1 and a half times a months, or every other month it runs twice - my math says it'd be 17.3 (really 18) months instead of 25.5 (that's 21.5 + 3 month wait).
Math based on being a guppy and assuming refreshes every time (which have not been confirmed - quite the opposite) and assuming I never miss anything due to life, puts me at 9.25 months (10 really) +3 month wait. At 1 and a half a month is still going to be a 9.16 month (6.16+3) long haul - which is really 10, because '97 shards out of 100' don't mean squat. That's not whaling, just guppying along....
We can get Jedi Rey next month who could have True Force Will power, or something, and can remove unremovable de-buffs. There is a 100% chance Talzin will be meaningless by the time the small fish get her -- much less the general public in years to come.
You want to add in that this will be yet another event we can't sim - and have to play through time and time and time again?
I'm telling you and the whole community -- sorry, but nothing about this farm schedule sounds right.
Why can't it be 3-4 times a month? You may not think it will but there is nothing that says it can't happen.
Again I understand you want to think it will be the worst, but this is a new thing and it may have its hiccups, but why not give it a chance before you start with wild ideas about how she will be useful before the release cadence is even done.
I admire your optimism, but the history of the game to this point would, at the very least, suggest that to question her usefulness after 2 years is hardly a "wild idea". ;)
When I started this game (almost 2 years ago), one of the most useful characters, used in both arena and GW extensively, was Luminara. The other was the "big 3" of droids along with GS and Poggle. And arena also featured Rey and Royal Guard (especially after his "auto-taunt" rework).
Exactly - if the past is any indication, I honestly don't see how MT could be useful in a year, or any toon depending on the inevitable power creep unless there's some really major rework that was a serious game changer like we saw with Raid Han.
That being said, if you're a whale, does this even really matter? Not really, unless you are foolishly spending a ton of money to bet on a future state - but then that draws into question of whether or not you're a true whale if you're spending above your means or more than what you want to build a toon in a mobile video game.
But if you're someone who's F2P, it's a lot to ask someone to invest months or years of time into a toon without much or any visibility about their usefulness in that future state. I'm not suggesting it's the developer's job to say "hey don't fret because in 12 months MT will still be great because we're gonna roll out these other toons or guarantee a rework etc ..." - but it's a real leap of faith when the current state of the game is so overwhelming with all the various factions and toons that have been released and a F2P player only has so much to choose from.
If it's like a 3 or even 6 month farm, at least there's some hope that they might be able to catch up and still find some use to a toon. It was good to see people who committed to Baze or Shoretrooper still get something out of their efforts, even if a toon like Thrawn shows up and neuters Baze upon his release.
But asking someone to farm a year or two? That's really crazy IMO. As a P2P who of course values the premium aspect of buying his toons and getting as much exclusivity as possible ... even I think a 1 or 2 year window before getting a toon is really insane.
