Wicket/Talzin farming...I don't understand the complaints.

When an event like CLS rolls around that some people couldn't get right now and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars, other people who got him said pretty much pony up some cash or shut your mouth you aren't entitled to everything soon as its released.

Now let's move on to Wicket and Talzin. If you haven't spent a ton of money, you won't be getting them for a while. Now those same players telling others pony up some cash or shut your mouth you aren't entitled to everything soon as its released are complaining "OMG ITS GOING TO TAKE ME 2 YEARS TO GET TALZIN!!!?"

Huh? What's the big deal? Remember...you aren't entitled to everything soon as its release. You can cut your farm in half by buying a refresh on the event once a month with crystals you get in game for free, and you can further reduce it from there by simply buying some packs for cash/crystals. You can cut it down to less than 6 months. Pony up some cash or wait and pay your dues...you guys aren't entitled to everything as soon as its released.

6 months, some crystals, maybe a small amount of money if all you buy is the 9.99 pack for 25 shards, and you can have a 7 star Talzin. This is a ton less painful than the CLS farm for a new player. All you need to start the farm is 5 NS, 4 of which will probably end up in your MT team...and you can use MT even before she is 7 star. CLS on the other hand...you have to farm out 5 empire for R2, 4 additional ANH toons, and wait for R2 then CLS event in that order...if you miss R2 going forward you may very well miss the next CLS, have to wait for another R2...then another CLS...and you can't even unlock CLS if he isn't 7 star.

More or less people who have bigger rosters just because they have happened to been playing the game longer don't have a huge advantage over newer players when it comes to acquiring Wicket/Talzin. Even if a newer player misses his 10 shards, next event he's only 10 shards behind as long as he's ready to go from that point on, where as with all other character events, they'd probably have to wait 6 months+. Plenty of people have been getting rocked by CLS for the last few months with no chance to get him, and for many of those who got him, again it was "you aren't entitled." This time around...everyone has to wait and farm for 6 months+, and what do we end up with? Lot's of pots calling kettles black.

I'm right about a lot of things...some of you just refuse to see past your entitled attitudes.

...and that should be /thread right there. No point in engaging in discussion with the OP.

Yeah, he's pretty much trolling now. Got called entitled once so is using this thread as an excuse to call everyone who disagrees with him entitled.

    No point to it.
  • Stars don’t matter. Just unlock them and gear them, they’re still great at low rarity. Sucks you won’t be able to use them in heroics or platoons, but you don’t need them for heroics (dozens of good teams already) and platoons probably won’t require them. If they do, we should have no problems for 4/6 of the phases even as free to play.

    Folks need to calm down.

How many times has a credit heist been on the 12th (or 13th) day?

I understand, hope for the best prepare for the worst, but why assume that after the 3 months it will only ever be here once a month. They very specifically worded it for the possibility to be more often and gave an outer limit for the busier times when other events might come up.

There is also a comment about the new flash event being geared towards a rough timeline that will resemble farming a piece from a node.

All of this leads me to think they will have it be more available then once a month. Will it be comparable to a hard node, who knows, but will it be 2 years. No it will not.

Just trying to out a little hope for the best in this thread. (Rebellions are built on hope, and we know how much everyone loves rebels)

I got you, and we can hope - but is the event going to be weekly? Of course not, and once a month is the outer limit?

Say it's every 1 and a half times a months, or every other month it runs twice - my math says it'd be 17.3 (really 18) months instead of 25.5 (that's 21.5 + 3 month wait).

Math based on being a guppy and assuming refreshes every time (which have not been confirmed - quite the opposite) and assuming I never miss anything due to life, puts me at 9.25 months (10 really) +3 month wait. At 1 and a half a month is still going to be a 9.16 month (6.16+3) long haul - which is really 10, because '97 shards out of 100' don't mean squat. That's not whaling, just guppying along....

We can get Jedi Rey next month who could have True Force Will power, or something, and can remove unremovable de-buffs. There is a 100% chance Talzin will be meaningless by the time the small fish get her -- much less the general public in years to come.

You want to add in that this will be yet another event we can't sim - and have to play through time and time and time again?

I'm telling you and the whole community -- sorry, but nothing about this farm schedule sounds right.

Why can't it be 3-4 times a month? You may not think it will but there is nothing that says it can't happen.

Again I understand you want to think it will be the worst, but this is a new thing and it may have its hiccups, but why not give it a chance before you start with wild ideas about how she will be useful before the release cadence is even done.

I admire your optimism, but the history of the game to this point would, at the very least, suggest that to question her usefulness after 2 years is hardly a "wild idea". ;)

When I started this game (almost 2 years ago), one of the most useful characters, used in both arena and GW extensively, was Luminara. The other was the "big 3" of droids along with GS and Poggle. And arena also featured Rey and Royal Guard (especially after his "auto-taunt" rework).

Used vs useful are 2 different things. QGJ is probably the best dark horse in the game. Was useful then and can still be used now.

But ok maybe not so wild.

Ry_diggs said 1 shot when she does return. Once a month if it's busy. Based on the rate of events, especially recently, a possible DS TB in rotation, also GvG, and new toons of course - every month could be construed as busy.
TBH - because she doesn't have a Rebel tag, I do actually think we'll get the worst possible outcome. Sorry, but I've been playing since the game came out, this is how it's been going.

I also believe he was referring to the days the event will run when he said "1 shot" because it ran for 2 days this time. I could be wrong without seeing his direct quote.

We are talking about 3 months from now and DS TB, or GvG wouldn't count towards the "busy schedule" I believe they mean individual events area being busy.

My main point still being credit heist is a "once every 12 days" and we see it every 7 (roughly from Crouchingrancor). To get an average there we are seeing at a minimum double the expected rate. I think that bodes well over the long run of this event. IMO.

Credit Heist wasn't billed as every 12 days though. It was billed as a variable event every 6-12 days, and the actual average falls in that range. That is no basis for assuming that "at least once a month" is actually going to mean 3 times a month.

But it also doesn't mean it will be once a month as everyone seems to think, without fail.

My point is that using an in game event as an example vs just pure speculation, is a better base for this situation.

Not really...multiple people have already posted in this thread agreeing with me. This thread is largely just me arguing with 2 clueless people now.

and please stop with the entitled attitude argument, it's super transparent that you feel entitled to having access to the same things just as quickly as a player who's been playing four times as long as you have. glass houses...

But your entitled attitude is your problem.

For those of us with a clue we can see this was a brilliant move forward for the game.

Look just pretend you are a new player for a minute, and you want to spend 100 dollars on a game. Do you want to spend 100 dollars playing catch up with stuff people already farmed out for free a year ago...or do you want to spend 100 dollars getting the latest new shiny? I know what I want to get for my money.

Its like I've been saying, I'm absolutely thrilled the devs are finally giving newer players an event where the impact per dollar spent is equalized whether you've been playing 2 years or 2 months...they are finally doing something right! You are just upset you can't have MT right now just because you farmed out NS 18 months ago. I understand why you are upset...I'm just here to remind you that if you lose the entitled attitude its a lot less upsetting. The game won't end if you don't have MT right now...go eat some ice cream or something, and just enjoy playing your other squads if you don't want to spend any money and want to tell the rest of us we should be spending to play catch up rather than spending for the latest new things.

    ^This guy gets it.
  • While fun, this thread has run its course.

Closed before it gets more out of hand.
  • First, you need to refresh the event to get a real idea of the length of the farm.

People who farm from hard nodes invariably refresh their energy at least once per day, at the cost of 50 crystals. Save half of that and you'll have enough crystals for a reset of the MT event. It's annoying every time someone says that this is a 2 year farm. It's only a 2 year farm if you either don't care about/want MT, or if you are incredibly ignorant.

Saving 50 crystals per day will net you 1500 in the average 30 day month. Put 780 of it towards a refresh of the MT event. The remaining 720 can be used to purchase MT shards from the shop at a cost of 80 crystals per shard.

This will net you 29 MT shards per month.

A hard node farm nets you about 50 shards per month.

With MT you were given the first 65 shards for free, plus the event running twice in 2 days. If you refreshed the event you'd have 105 shards of MT.

The single hard node farm will take 6.6 months to complete start to finish

The MT farm should take about 7.75 months to finish with this method with only a slightly higher cost in crystals.

If you are that stubborn of a spender and don't want to use a 50 crystal refresh during your hard node farm as a basis for cost, than you really aren't a very good player of this game, and thus your opinion on the matter does not matter.

Realistically, good players refresh 3 times per day and have crystals to spare
