I prefer thrawn lead over tarkin (even with the current busted ai). His lead is overall, strong. But I still use tark with thrawn and keep him at .84 of thrawn speed so my offensive opening is always; thrawn (277 while he is leading), tark, tark, thrawn. When thrawn does the tm swap, he will be at 99% tm so he won't have a tm conflict with tarkin.
Tark and thrawn are both super solid leaders, so I use both depending on how I feel and if I want to mod swap.
I wonder if Thrawn (L) is better. Tarkin (L) perhaps needs Thrawn in comp to be good, while Thrawn (L) doesn't really need Tarkin.
That is a very reasonable observation. Also, my thrawn is ZZ. It's hard to take down shore under a thrawn lead. It almost has to be dn. That being said, fast thrawn makes tarkin very fast. So all those debuffs followed by tm down really sets your opponent back to begin the match.
