- So I went here:
https://gaming-fans.com/2018/05/swgoh-understanding-ships-crew-power-in-galaxy-of-heroes/
And found out that ANY level 8 ability (Zeta or Omega) gives 523 crew power (because a level 7 is already 383, this is effectively a change of +140.
Now, I couldn't find the exact relationship between crew power and ship stats, but based off the other, larger increases available for other things (eg a single 3* lvl 15 mod gives +44), I wouldn't say it's worth it, unless you have Zeta materials literally lying around.
EDIT: changed 40 to 140. But I think my opinion is the same, due to the high cost is zeta mats (for most). - Da_Bauers6 years agoSeasoned Ace(+140)

Thankyou!- I think I heard about people doing it with Thrawn when he came out due to the annihilate he had, but not sure I've heard anything of it aside from then I don't think though, certainly I'm not sure I would until it was absolutely necessary. I guess it depends what your other zeta options are, but I reckon there's usually a higher priority.
- Da_Bauers6 years agoSeasoned AceIn terms of usefulness outside of fleet, Kanan and Ezra have the most useful zetas on Phoenix and they're both on different ships. Finn's zeta works if you have enough Resistance toons to build two teams. Rogue One the only zeta I would consider is Jyn's leadership.
- If you need your ship to be 1 speed faster, and that Zeta makes it so then its worth it.
In all other cases, not worth it.
I Zetad Tarkins unique when using him but never did his leader as it didn't increase capital ship speed. - Mephisto_style6 years agoSeasoned AceThe answer to the OP question is no
- Vaderizer6 years agoSeasoned AceThe only time it'd be worth burning a zeta purely for crew power, i.e. you rarely or never use the character on the ground or their zeta is just bad, is if you're in a ridiculously competitive fleet shard and it would give a crucial ship a point of speed and make it faster than the other guy's crucial ship.

I'm just not seeing that as a plausible scenario. I imagine RNG in those cases would matter so much more that the diminshed returns would not outweigh the bad opportunity cost of a zeta. "Mephisto_style;c-2067395" wrote:

There was a time where the fastest Tarkin won 99.9% of the time.
