The Reason to 7* and gear Phoenix beyond Thrawn

Brief history:
So I was able to get almost everyone to 7* (minus Sabine) through the double drops and constantly using GW, arena, etc. I also had shard shop currency to get the final shards of what I needed to make sure I had a chance to try the Thrawn event at 7*. (SWGOH.GG located at the bottom)

I ended up beating 7* Thrawn eventually.

THE ACTUAL POINT OF POST:

I had not been able to defeat any of the LS Hard Node 9's other than one starring 9-A. So I thought I would try with my new Pheonix Squad. I only have one ally that has GK, but he rarely shows on there. So I tried 9-B with Pheonix minus Sabine with my Ally's Wedge. I three starred it first try. Tried 9-C and 9-D with an Ally's Jyn, I three starred both first try. Went back to do 9-A with the GK and three starred it.

Other than GK all the other Ally leaders died in the second tier of each.

So for any new players or any players that can't beat the LS Hard 9's, I highly recommend you not only try to get Pheonix starred and geared for Thrawn. But I casually strolled through the part of the game I have never been able to beat until today.

Also as previously mentioned on other threads they are great for other Legendary events (Ezra and Kanan fit two other Legendary events, EP and Yoda, who you can then use Thrawn and EP for R2). They are also great for people that struggle to finish their GW. I finish (typically) node 11 with them at full health or nearly defeat 11 and let my arena team finish off the rest.

In summary the pro's of investing in Pheonix:
- Get Thrawn
- Easy GW
- Beat LS Hard Node 9 A-D easily
- Use Ezra and Kanan for other Legendaries (I would imagine whole Pheonix would handily defeat EP as well)
- Their ships once farmable (who knows when) look to be great
- They are fun and thats all that matters in the game

They aren't the best in Raid, my guild hasn't made the jump yet to HAAT but I know there are videos on youtube that show around 1.5-2 mill on HAAT

GWs already are easy with a rebel team, a resistance team or even a Sith team under Nihilus lead.

I don't think that Yoda is that mandatory anymore since he's still the crappiest legendary around. Anyway Jedis are damn common and finding 5 of them is a cakewalk witout a single Phoenix.

Actually Ezra alone is worth being farmed and geared to make Jedis even better. Kanan isn't performing well as a tank.

You can enjoy a lot playing them but there's no point in playing Phoenix in raids at the moment, which is a big NO for me at the moment.

Here is the difference, I was mainly referring to people that couldn't accomplish those things. Or that don't have the many different teams built up. We have someone in our guild that started right before Phoenix was launched and they use Phoenix to beat their GW as well everyday. This is important for anyone that is moving up as you continue to face harder and harder teams. Or even someone like me that will just sim all the levels until 11.

Essentially everything you are saying is from the perspective as someone who has multiple teams decently well geared or leveled up. Even someone in your position would benefit from Phoenix once their ships are farmable. Which is why I said who knows when that will be.

Everyone has a different situation and you trying to discount something that is true for a very large amount of new comers or people that haven't made that jump yet.

I mean look at my Toons you would say that I have a decent array of LS and I still wasn't able to beat the Hard nodes until I had the 5 7* Phoenix characters at a minimum of a gear 8. AND That was without GK or keeping the Ally Leader alive past the middle of the second tiers.

Here is the Difference.

Phoenix doesn't need that much gear for the LS Hard Nodes. And they are easy for any new player to get. Thats why Phoenix is great. They are accessible.

Also here is another thing, you named multiple teams that fulfill different parts that I argue Phoenix accomplished. Whereas I only named one that does it and thats Phoenix.

But gearing them is the issue. You really only need one Pheonix (Hera) at about a gear 10. I just tried it again today with my Ally's Jyn and using my 6* Sabine, and Gear 8 7* Kanan, Zeb, and Chopper.

Ya thats essentially the same way I was before thrawn. And I got that Mob enforcer because she was easy to farm when I first started and had no idea who was good or who wasn't yet.

But you need to get Baze in order for that to be true aka finishing 9-C.

I also have a 7* mob and Lobot + CUP, JKG and so on almost every lol toon, I'm working on Pao atm, URoRRuR'R'R is in the hands of Cromium RNG, as I don't want to waste energy on him

Really should say 9 nodes, since 11 and 12 were both broken. But still fairly impressive.
