Can't speak to the roster or match details without more information but you do realize that adding the third fleet increased the total potential banners for a match, right?
I have beaten plenty of opponents with more GP and more GLs than me. In fact my current opponent has 2 more GLs and 1m more GP and I cleared him for 1838.
I think you are going to need something more specific than you have.
