Not sure how they calculate the 20% but it appears to be bugged. Jyn's leader ability makes it so you can see 5% protection gain amount when rebel allies gain a buff. This is accurate 5% recovery And when using Cassian with zeta on groundwork ability. this should increase protection by 20%, however it does less. You can see this by taking the 5% protection gain amount (with Cassian present)and calculating the full amount (5% times 20= 100%) Example Jyn has 25,787 Prot with no boost from mods Jyn gains 1289 prot with each buff this is 5% of 25787 When Cassian gives Jyn 20% prot, she gains 1490 prot per buff. This is 5% of 29800 prot. So Jyn has 29800 total. This is wrong Jyn's original protection 25787 plus 20% =30944. Also the more protection mods you have this seems to be worse. K2 with 79k protection only gains about 6k from Cassian's protection up. Where adding 20% should be about +16k. protection
