Endless loop of Connection Errors

Product: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
Platform:Apple iPad
What type of device are you experiencing the issue with? IPad & iPhone

Summarize your bug For the last few weeks, I frequently get stuck in an endless loop of connection errors when trying to launch the game. It happens at the “checking for updates”. When it happens, it can be like this for hours or days. Sometimes it resolves itself, but it is incredibly frustrating and causing me to miss several events.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure. It happens for me on both cell data and wifi and on both my iPhone and iPad.

This connection error is happening frequently (>75% of the time).  It happens randomly, but once it happens it persists for hours or days.  I’ve tried the troubleshooting guide, disconnecting Wifi and Cell Data, restarting the device, updating the iOS, clearing web data, and even going in and changing my eA password (as was suggested in one thread).  Nothing works.  I can’t provide my ally code because I can’t even get into the game.

  • @brockstar2323 Have you tried to reinstall the application? The game might be missing an asset and cannot download it. Check your storage as well, please.

    I haven’t tried reinstalling because I heard you could lose your entire progress.  Seems odd that it would be an app issue given that the error persists across both my iPhone and iPad and that they are on different versions of iOS.  Also, it just connected on my iPad when I paired it with my cell phone and used cell data (instead of WiFi).  Seems like some sort of bug in the game recognizing WiFi sometimes?  I can reinstall on both devices, but how do I ensure I don’t lose my progress (or will it automatically restore for me?).

    This article here should be helpful. Can you also try to sign out from your Game Center account first and start the game to see if the error is gone?

    @EA_Gunner I signed out from Game Center and tried to launch game. Same error. Error occurs connecting via cellular linking to phone or on wifi. Seems to be somewhat random. Have no issues some days, but for the last 36 hours now I haven’t been able to get in on either device or by either connection type.
