Episode quest armor shred

Question

The episode quest counter: attempt to apply armor shred (5 times) didn't work for several characters and ships. I tried with:

Sabine Wren
Skiff Gaurd (Lando)
Finalizer

All armor shreds of these characters don't count to the episode quest.

With Morgan Elsbeth I could complete the quest (and 1 shred seemed to count double towards the quest). The idea to use Morgan came up from the inability to complete a conquest achievement with Morgan, so maybe now Morgan can complete it, but other charachters don't count anymore.

Unless you're dealing enough damage with those characters to kill off the enemy first, they should be working. I did the quest in 2 battles using the Ventress tier of the GAS event, there was no other place I could do it at the time. If anything, I was worried it wouldn't count since it was a JG event and those didn't count when I was finishing my BH prestigious quests.

Edit: Since when does Finalizer apply Armor Shred?
