ERROR 9.0 - connexion with EA account

Hello, I can no longer log in to my SWGOF account.

My account is linked to my email address and, more importantly, to an EA account. When I try to log in, I get an ERROR 9.0 message repeatedly. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times. 

The in-game support advised me to abandon this account and create a new one. I don't think it's right to force players to link their in-game account exclusively to an EA account, and that EA itself isn't able to help when there's a problem.
My progress is exclusively tied to an EA account, and now I risk losing years of gameplay because of EA's policy....

Could someone from EA help me log in and recover my account? Thank you.

    I am having similar issues to you!

    Wanted to create a new account for my youngest son, which somehow ended up linking his email address to my current game. 

    My email address now gives the error code 9 message and cannot link back to any account! EA Help have been most unhelpful saying that their policy means that they can not amend the primary linked email account to the game! 

    If anyone has resolved this similar issue I'd be grateful for some advice. Can't believe one advisor from EA Help actually suggested that I post on forums as they couldn't help 🤷‍♂️

    write to support, attach a screenshot, and describe the problem with the code. They should help you.

    That's what I did; I've opened several tickets with EA support over the past few days.
    Still waiting for their reply.
    Perhaps this post will allow an admin to contact me and others experiencing the same problem...

  • It's been three days and I still haven't been able to access my account because of error 9. EA support tells me that only in-game support can help me, and in-game support says they can't help me and that I have to create a new account. Everyone is passing the buck without providing any help or answers. Does anyone know a way to regain access to their account (in case of loss/hacking/anything else)?

  • After 6 days of fighting, I finally got an answer regarding my technical problem with error 9. 
    Nobody can help me.

    To summarize:

    • - EA forces us to log in using their account. 
    • - You can PERMANENTLY overwrite your game data if you ever click "Login" instead of "Import Account" when logging in.
    • - NO warning message informs you that you are overwriting your account.
    • - EA support says they don't have the capacity to solve the problem.
    • - In-game support says they don't have the capacity to solve the problem.

      After 5 years of playing, tens of euros invested in a game... Screw you EA, screw you CG.
      You're a bunch of incompetents killing your game.

    Same for me. I've been told that they will not help me. 

    I've found it really frustrating that the support in game don't appear to read the thread, and basically dismiss everything you say and send to them. 

    Feels like they don't care at all about the issue - a classic proverbial passing of the buck! 

    I'm running the game on apple iPhone and iPad, I may log a ticket with apple support and see what they can do to help. If I get anywhere will post back for you guys.
