Malevolence Reinforcement bug AI "cheats" (6v5)

Product: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
Platform:Android Phone
What type of device are you experiencing the issue with? Samsung Galaxy A5
OS Version 6.0.1
Ally Code: (Find it here: http://bit.ly/AllyCode )
What type of issue do you have? Gameplay
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Summarize your bug When you are fighting a Malevolence fleet, and their field is full (5 ships), and you kill the original Vulture droid (the one that summons another Vulture droid on death), the AI calls a reinforcement onto the EXACT same spot where he newly spawned Vulture droid appeared, creating a 6v5 situation to the player's disadvantage. Both actions seem to happen at the same time because the AI doesn't have to click buttons to call a reinforcement like a human player (you normally can't call in reinforcement fast enough to recreate this for yourself and it won't let you summon a 6th ship. The AI summons the 5th and 6th at the same time due to being a super fast AI. Not only does it create a 6v5 situation, it also makes it hard to target the ships because they're in the same spot and it is hard to figure out who you are attacking.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It is rather tough to recreate. The enemy Malevolence needs to have 5 ships on the field. Then you need to kill the original Vulture droid (that summons another Vulture when it dies) while the enemy Malevolence has almost full turn meter and is about to take a turn. It also needs to have the reinforcement ability ready. Then, when you kill the original Vulture, it summons another one, while calling in the reinforcement to the SAME spot creating a 6v5 situation (or worse) which is a big disasvantage for the player and may result to undeserved losses.

Was doing an Arena battle vs another Malevolence fleet when this bug happened. I'm sure Malevolence users know of the small bug when the enemy kills your Vulture droid(the original, not the summoned ones) and your Malevolence gets a turn while the killed Vulture summons a second Vulture. The Malevolence then shows that reinforcements are available even though you can't call any because your field is full. But it's basically a visual bug when it happens to you, because all it does is not greying out the reinforcement button, so no big deal.

But for the defending AI this is a bit different. Since the AI calls the reinforcement immediately (as opposed to the human player selecting one, which takes a few seconds) it called in a reinforcement to the spot where the summoned Vulture droid just appeared, creating a 6v5 situation. It was not a visual bug since the ship was able to take turns and I could also target it (which was also super hard to do because there were 2 ships at the same spot and it was not easy to see who you are attacking). It is a pretty unfair bug that can easily cause you to lose the battle. To me it happened in Arena so it didn't matter too much (and I still won anyway), but it'd be very frustrating to see it happen in TW or GAC, possibly making you lose the battle or even the whole thing if you're unlucky enough. Would be great if that got fixed. I assume the bug happens all the time if that situation occurs. It's just that the situation itself is rather rare to encounter. I don't know how hard it is to fix this, but a fix to this would be great!

  • Hi @Disruptor92 and thanks for raising this.

Do you have a video of this occurring? We have attempted to reproduce this, but we have been unable to.

@EA_UltraSlide Hey, very sorry for the late reply. Had some important real life stuff to take care of and forgot to reply earlier. And no, unfortunately I don't have a clip of it, only that screenshot. Next time when I see this bug is probably about to happen I will try to record it if I remember. As I wrote in my bug-report it is pretty hard to replicate as the situation is pretty specific, but I'm fairly sure it happens every time when that situation occurs.
