No death
After getting enemies health to 3 bars they no longer lose health in conquest sector 2 first mission. Enemies are immune to being defeated.
I removed all my data discs and was able to finally defeat them. Must be a bug with those.

You don't need to remove all Data discs. Just the one you get for 200 enemies on the golden path. In german it's called "F-34T Trainingsdroiden". This disc is bugged, it puts god mode on all enemies, instead of all enemies except the leader, like the description of the disc says. (After you kill the lead, it should be possible to take out the rest of the enemy... but yeah, doesn't work, and I don't know if all the rest of the disc works)

You’re a genius! I can confirm the F-34T disc is the culprit. Remove and avoid.
Same here. Gold and normal paths both. I get units near death and then damage stops. Sector 3 first node. I’ve wasted 45 energy on this.
