Press-and-hold taking substantially longer to activate

I noticed after the most recent update that press-and-hold is taking much longer to activate. (Like to get ability text to pop-up or to go into a character from squad selection). 

Issue is occurring on both android and iOS. This is very frustrating and makes the game substantially less enjoyable. I hope this is a reversible bug, and not some happenstance of bad decisionmaking.
