Sims 1 legacy edition- Why does it do this? Not rendering anything

I can make a sim fine but when I move in the house isn’t there I hover my mouse and objects appear but disappear after. I’ve tried doing what ea support have suggested like clearing cache and what others have suggested such as downloading new graphics driver. I don’t know what else to do and I’m so disappointed I was so excited to play.

Thank you I got it working, I have another question I’m not sure if it’s because I changed graphics driver which is why I will ask you here, when I loaded sims 3 after changing my driver all my settings were reverted and now my terrain texture quality is poop no matter what settings I put it on.

  • pitypartysimmer  Please try a different sound output device, for example built-in speakers vs. headphones connected via jack or USB.

MeggleMonster  Your issue sounds different.  The OP's issue is common on very old graphics drivers: most objects don't get rendered unless you mouse over them.  With your save, it sounds like the house actually disappeared, not that it's present but not displaying correctly.

What you can try now is refreshing your user data.  It won't bring back the old data but may help prevent this in the future.  Go here:

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts

and move or rename the Sims 25 folder.  This will remove all save data, and the game will regenerate the folder and its contents the next time you launch it.

If you want to recover your old sims, we can try restoring some of the data within the old Sims 25 folder, but to be honest, I don't know whether it would work or even if it's a good idea.  Since I can't tell you the extent of the corruption, if that's what it is, you might be reintroducing the problem to the new folder.

  • Same thing is happening to me now but only since their latest update. I made a family, moved them in, built the house, played for hours. All day and all night basically. I saved multiple times as I normally do in case of possible crashing, yet the next day I went into the game and bam! I couldnt click on that house to play it because when I did, the game crashed. So i gave up. Then the next day, i went to play and then that house was actually all missing. The family, the house, it was a vacant block again. I didn't move them out and bulldoze the house. It was just gone.
