Same here! Mine crashes every 2-3 minutes, it makes the game unplayable! I've attached a dxdiag as well. My game is up-to-date. It worked better before the latest updates :(

This!!! Literally unplayable. I load in fine, but as soon I use speed x3 it immediately crashes. No error. No warning, nothing. So fed up of EA rushing to launch when the product is clearly flawed.

  • This is mine.

I've changed the driver settings to integrated, reinstalled the x64 and x86, changed the compatibility settings. Getting fed up that nothing I do is working. The game doesn't even open. It shouldn't take knowing the minute ins and outs of my computer to play a game.

I had to turn my integrated graphic card off, but that made my PC not work, but the game did.

Same here, after 5+ minutes the game simply crashes. Sim isn't even leaving the lot, and I play on 2x or 3x speed the entire time.

  • bnb-89  Are you getting BlueScreens when you try to play, or is your computer otherwise shutting down?  The BSODs are clear in your dxdiag; the question is when they're happening.

Regardless, please update your graphics driver.  Go here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

Select GeForce, GTX 16 series (notebooks), GTX 1660 ti, Windows 11, and download the Game Ready Driver.  Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

LittleTurtle666  Try reseting your user data.  Move the "The Sims 25" out of this folder:

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts

and the game will create a new one with no user data.  Don't restore your old saves yet; just see how the game runs.  If you get more crashes, let me know whether there's any pattern to them.

kirstiewoolhouse  Your dxdiag shows that both graphics drivers are outdated.  Update the Intel one first, then restart, then update the Nvidia driver again, then restart again.  You can get new drivers here:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/134876/intel-core-i58300h-processor-8m-cache-up-to-4-00-ghz/downloads.html
    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

For each one, run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

For anyone whose game doesn't open at all, especially if you're seeing a Vulkan-related error, please post in the current master thread, and provide the info requested in the accepted solution:

    Hey puzzlezaddict !

Thank you so much! I've been able to play for more than 5 minutes! Is there a way to restore my old save? I liked the family I made.

  • LittleTurtle666  Inside the Sims 25 folder are eight UserData folders, one for each neighborhood.  You can try replacing the new folder with the one from the neighborhood you were previously playing.  But keep the new UserData folder too—just rename it before moving it, something like UserDataNew so you can restore it if necessary.

I would strongly suggest copying your old UserData folder (whichever one corresponds to the old neighborhood you were playing in) to the new Sims 25 folder rather than moving it.  That way, you have a backup and can trash the new folder if you get more crashing.

The idea here is it's not clear what files are a problem, and which ones you can recycle.  So if moving over the entire UserData folder makes the game crash again, remove it, restore a copy of the new one (UserDataNew or whatever you renamed it), and start replacing the subfolders inside until you get your sims back without the crashes.
