Looks like there’s another issue with character files, Babies aren’t being deleted if you quit without saving after giving birth, the easiest way to check this is with SimPE, or by using the InSiminator mod which lets you view who is in the Default household.
If anyone else has experienced these issues, please let me know!

Aside from babies, any new character file will not get deleted when quitting without saving; instead, the next time the game loads it will add them to the neighborhood as a blank Sim with no stats. Such Sims are hidden from normal gameplay, you will never see them in the game without cheats, but they may still affect the neighborhood's integrity in long-term gameplay.
