Can’t Start The Sims 2 Legacy Corrupted File Error (February 2025)

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble starting The Sims 2 Legacy and was hoping someone could help. Every time I try to launch the game, I get this error message:

“Some needed files were corrupted during the installation. Please reinstall this application.“

I purchased the game via the EA App and I am running it on Windows 11. I’ve already tried reinstalling multiple times, but the issue persists. I also thought the latest update might fix it, but I still can’t start the game.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what worked for you? Are there any specific steps I should try, or is this something EA needs to address?
