Characters Unable to Return Home After Traveling

This happened to me but my sims were staying in a hotel. They were returning from a community lot on their vacation but two sim days had passed during the loading screen and almost all their needs were in red/yellow. Then got the notification that it was time for their vacation to end. When returning home, got stuck on a load screen and had to force my computer off, couldn’t even get my “task manager” up to force quit the game!
