Luis recovered almost exactly 24 hours after getting the disease, but he was kind enough to pass it on to Hanna Bell beforehand.
For Hanna I ramped up the difficulty (she's best friens with a genie lamp owner, so no real risk here): No sleep, no relaxing, energy comes from coffee alone, comfort from a good toilet and the occasional full bath. Plus: doing exercise whenever possible. You'd think that would be enough to kill, but, no, 48 hours into this she's still going strong.
I wonder if the ingame hints are probably misleading? I always took "getting lots of rest and avoiding strenous activity" literal, but maybe the game checks the energy and comfort score and as long as these are good, the disease goes down in severity? So it wouldn't matter what else I do, as long as by the time the check rolls around energy and comfort are high?
So my next try should involve keeping a sim in the red for as long as possible.
