Game doesn't launch in correct resolution

Hi all,

I posted about this last week, but realized I didn't give a lot of information. When I launch the Sims 2 Legacy (using EA App), the game doesn't launch in the resolution of my monitor (1024x786), and when I go to the game settings and change the resolution, the settings aren't kept for when I relaunch the game. The workaround I found was launching the game in windowed mode and setting the resoution in the EA App settings, then followed by me switching to fullscreen. I was wondering if there is a way to make the game launch in the correct resolution without this workaround? Additionally, there is some lag on lots with lots of build/buy mode objects, but beyond these issues the game runs well. I will list my PC stats below. Thanks!
