Game loads but won't display?

Good evening, everyone!

This is a bit of a weird one. I bought the Sims 2 the other day, and it's run really smoothly--in fact, I even played it earlier this morning with no issues! I saved and quit the game after I was done playing for a bit, and then wanted to go back to it. Problem is, every single time now I try to launch the game, it's not displaying at all! The game is shown as launched; the program is showing up in my task manager, the EA App says it's running, etc. The task manager does say it's not responding, but because it is not displaying, I don't know if there's an issue. I'm really confused since it worked perfectly fine this morning, and I didn't make any changes to my computer or update anything in between!

I have cleared my cache, repaired the game in the EA App, and even installed and reinstalled it. I've also restarted my computer countless times trying to get it to work. I have no mods or CC downloaded for the Sims 2, so it is not a mod conflict. I'm curious to see if this has happened to anyone else, and if there is any fix for it! I want to play my game; I really loved the little family I was building, and I'll be sad if I lose them (and my money, to be honest).
