Sims 2 car bug

When I try and leave the lot everything works fine and there are no problems, but once I try and go home from the lot a bug appears. The sim just appears to be sitting on air and once the car actually loads he comes home as a passanger from the car. I don't know why this happens but it is just really annoying that I have to wait a ingame hour or two for the car to load and then to see the person coming out from the passanger side. I hope this gets fixed...
