Sims 2 legacy - suddenly crashing no error message

im trying to start sims 2 but its not working

sims4 on the same platform works fine

cleared cache but still nothing 

who can help me?

    I am having the same problem. My game will load to the point of neighbourhood, but I can't get into play a family. It was fine like 4 days ago, then suddenly stopped working. No new mods. I have tried all the normal things like deleting .cache etc.
