Sims 2 No Typing Issue still occuring!

I have had the same no typing issue, as in I can't use my keyboard to type ingame for things like naming stuff or writing a description, since I first bought the the game in february. I have tried everything, every solution I could find online but nothing works. And this patch note 7 was apparently suppose to fix that but I still have that issue. EA/Maxis please fix this!

    Hi all,

    This issue was resolved in today's patch:

    •  Unable to enter text into fields (e.g. when naming a family)

    If you're still experiencing this issue, please create a new thread so we can investigate into this further.

    Somebody somewhere said that minimizing the game, then unminimizing it works to restore typing. I tried it and it works. Of course, you must be playing in windowed mode for this to work.

    Even though it does not solve it, a temp. solution is to go into window mode, minimize and max. the game again .. then you can type.  Very silly in a way - but it works for me :))

    Even the forum does not come up right - lol - as Rhiamom says .... it appeared after I wrote :)

    I have tried that actually but doesn't work for me lol. Oh well I guess I have to wait until they release patch 8 and hopefully it actually fixes this bug

    I tried that but it didn't work for me sadly. I will have to wait until patch 8, if they even decide to fix it by then
