the sims 2 legacy badly done

in CAS there's just view from far when you create a sim, there IS NO bodyshop included with the game, no package installer neither, I noticed IKEA stuff is missing too, and generally it's not worth to buy it as long as you have some other type of copy of the game, when you got nothing it's better than nothing I guess, I hate this edition cause of what I mentioned, although for other types of copies you need modified graphic rules file, I got such working file so I can run them on windows 10 and windows 11

I have already tried switching keyboard language but it doesn't work. I have tried everything there is to try to fix my no keyboard issue but nothing works. I just gotta pray that they somehow fix it completely in the next update

What language is your keyboard in? Some people who's keyboards weren't set for English had luck when switching. Other than that, I can't find anything helpful just searching.

Yes exactly. I cannot type ingame, the console or in any text fields that uses the keyboard to function. Sadly the recent patch, patch 8, hasn't fixed my issue and I have had this problem since I first bought the game back in march. I hope patch 9 fixes this though because it's a bit annoying to deal with.

The issue where you can't type while running the game? I only had that occasionally (and restarting my game always fixed it) and the patch fixed it. I'm sorry you're still having it.

  • It's definitely worth it getting sims 2 legacy collection despite it still being a buggy mess and the complain about CAS is invalid since it has literally been like that since the original release. It's a shame that bodyshop or Ikea stuff pack is not in the game but can easily be added if you know what you're doing and the best thing about sims 2 LC is that it works well on  modern systems.

Just a note to you guys and everyone else reading this demon86ea LadyGray01  that the bodyshop installer at mts is not perfect. If you have the keyboard issue on sims 2 legacy collection you probably won't be able to package your bodyshop sims, since you gotta type in a name and description to do that and copy paste doesn't work. I have that issue and I essentially cannot pack sims or anything. Because I have the keyboard issue

  • I'm not sure what you mean about the view from far? Sims 2 has always only had two views in CAS, looking at the whole body or in close to the face. I guess if you've only played Sims 4 I could see how annoying this would be, but it's not an error in design, it's just 20 years old.

IKEA missing is bad, but I don't think it's their fault. It's safe to assume it's because they couldn't renew the license to include it from IKEA. But, if you have a copy of the IKEA pack, you can install it yourself. I copied it over from Ultimate Collection. If you google GitHub Sims 2 Ikea Legacy, there's a tutorial on how to do it. There's also a couple Reddit threads.

As far as the package installer and bodyshop, I agree with you there. I'm not surprised we don't have them since UC didn't have them either. But they absolutely should have included them with this release.

If you are open to third party programs I've been using Sims2Pack Clean Installer for a decade and it works well. There's also an installer to make Bodyshop work with Legacy on Mod the Sims site. I haven't used that myself, but the feedback appears to be largely positive.
