The Sims 2 Legacy crashes and unresponsive on launch in Steam

I'm having the same issue. I am on an i9-14900K, 4090, 64 GB RAM. Sims 1 loaded up right away, though a bit small (and square shaped) but I haven't gone INTO the gameplay to fix it since the Sims 2 was giving me problems. Pressing "Play" makes my screen zoomed in with gigantic icons (like when loading old resolution games), does nothing in Task Manager and just hangs until I force close it. I saw someone post a fix but I did not buy the RE-RELEASE just to have to do workarounds. Chat support has no solution.

my game does this too. putting it in windows mode made it work but I hope they fix it soon.

I have this problem too and no idea how to fix it, disappointing to buy the game and it not work :( I’m not tech savvy either.

You're welcome. I'm not sure. I went ahead and requested a refund. The workarounds for $40 is crazy!

Same here man I know the feeling. I hate to buy something that doesn't work it's Flustrating indeed I hope they get this Fixed or else I'm requesting a refund because I know I don't want a game that's not gonna Run plus I checked my Requirements and my Specs Are good to run the Game. But sims 1 only works on my end but for some reason sims 2 want launch It just stays on a loading screen It doesn't proceed.  So yes I'm having that same issue. So EA please fix it asap. I even tried Steam and it's doing the same thing 

Agreed they want 40 bucks for something that's not working correctly is insane 

I'm missing the lower part of the window is there anyway to adjust it or resize it?

I'm not refunding. I will just wait for a fix if not.
