The sims 2 Vacation problem

Hi, I've been having a problem with vacation since I have downloaded The Sims 2 Legacy Collection - Sims arrive at a resort, but the moment they leave for another plot in the holiday world, they can't return. When returning to my resort, my Sims get stuck on the loading screen. I can also hear the game running and interacting, but I can't see anything expect the loading screen and can't play in any way. I have to shut down the whole game and my Sims stay on the vacation - I can not play with this family any more.

Can this be solved please? I'm playing through the Steam platform.
