After launching my game, I can no longer play my save file.
My family portrait wasn't even visible but their last name was still there. I'd click on that save file but the Play button was grayed out. I hope I don't have to start over... ☹️

@DeadofWinter321 Can you start a new save in the world this household was in? Please try just to be sure. If the world itself isn't loading anymore, that could be the issue, and in that case, let me know which world it is.
Otherwise, try loading the backup version of this save. Open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves, and you'll see a folder with your save name plus another folder with the same name and a .backup extension. Rename the save and delete the .backup, so the folder name ends in .sims3 , and you'll be able to load it from the Main Menu, at leats in theory.
