Black flashing screen then sims is not responding message

I have The Sims 3, Pets, World Adventures, Ambitions, Generations, and Seasons installed on my Dell Laptop. The laptop is under a year old and runs fine. My Processor is:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310 ...

You only have 64 MB of dedicated memory.

Try lowering your graphic settings. 

Did you do DEP ?

I do not know how. I tried watching a video but I could not find the files that he was using. Can I just buy a new card? The game was working fine for over a year, until a few days ago.
