Can expansion packs on disc be added to the Sims 3 base game that was downloaded (through Origin)?

Well the subject basically says it all....I just wanted to know if it would be compatible if I were to buy any expansion packs that are on disc. Just double checking so I don't accidentally waste money. I'm sure this question has been asked but I couldn't find any (only the opposite question where they had a expansions through Origin and base on disc) I know everyone else is just waiting for Sims 4 though....with no toddlers or pools. ;D

  • Yes, you can mix the disc version with the Origin version. You could also just redeem the code you get with the DVD on Origin and get the download version. So with the DVD you get both, DVD version and download one.

Only thing the DVD version doesn't work with is the steam version.

Seriously? The Origin version has that crappy overlay that makes my games really laggy! That's almost dumb. Thanks EA, for doing that. Really appreciate it.

baolin21- My game was laggy but I changed every graphic quality option to low (besides the graphic quality of the Sims) and it rarely ever froze or lagged again. And it really didn't change the look of the game. I wouldn't blame Origin because it also depends on the computer and its graphic card, etc.
