Cannot Download World Bundle Pack

Hi everyone!

I've been having some problems with my Sims 3 and don't know how to solve it. I have a Macbook (with the Sequoia 15.5) and I have been playing just fine. Nonetheless, I just bought the World Bundle Pack (that has Monte Vista and Hidden Springs) and everything worked fine on the sims3.com website. I managed to redeem them and they appear on my purchase history. The problem comes when I click on download and once the game launches an error appears (one monte vista the error for example was ofb-sim3:58951). I've tried so many things that the help advisor from EA told me: reinitiating my mac, cleaning some folders, changing the user on the macbook, waiting 48h. And nothing solves it... I also tried one thing which was launching the game and once the part where I can choose the world appears I click on the three dots where I can also see the purchase history to try and download it from there. All the worlds appers but still an error occurs when I try to download it...

Can someone please help? I just really want to play my game.

  • Caquina  You won't be able to install the world through the launcher because of this issue:

Launcher crashes when I open the downloads tab in Sims 3 | EA Forums - 12167613

But trying to download it is a good test of whether the problem is still present, since you get exactly the same error when you try to download at the Main Menu.  So you can test that way without having to open and close the game all the time.  Once it's fixed, try the Main Menu again.

Did you recently change the email address or password associated with your EA account?  Does either one have special characters?  The launcher doesn't like those, so you'd need to remove them.  Please also delete the file labeled [your email].bin inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads, and clear Safari's cache and cookies.  Finally, open Keychain Access, inside Applications > Utilities, search for sims3 , and delete any entries you find.  Then try again to download the world.

    Hi!

Thank you for your help :) You can find attached the screenshot, it's in Portuguese but the translation is "An error has occured when trying to download the content OFB-Sim3:38987" - for this one I tried to download Hidden Springs via the sim3.com. When I launch the game and once the part where I can choose the world appears I click on the three dots where I can also see the purchase history to try and download it from there. When I click on download Hidden Springs the message that appears is "An error has occured when trying to download the content Hidden Springs".

Regarding your last question, I only see them as an option to download, I cannot start a save.

  • Caquina  Please post a screenshot of the error.  And if you see a different error when trying to use the Downloads Dashboard at the Main Menu, please post that as well.

Separately, are you saying you see MV listed as a world where you can start a save, or only as an option to download in the Downloads Dashboard?  If you can start a save there (and it works), then it's installed fine already and you don't have to do anything else.
