Can't install new worlds on Mac

I have a new Macbook Pro . . . the Sims3 works well, but I just purchased Hidden Springs world and when I try to dowload it, not only will it not download, but the entire game freezes and I have to force close it. I tried to download Riverview as well wiht the same result.

Thanks for the response! Yes, I just reconfirmed that the game is up-to-date, and it was downloaded via disk.  Here is the patch number: 1.39.3.018001. The only item in my add-ons folder is the uninstaller.

When you downloaded, did you have the game running or just the launcher ?

    I believe just the launcher

I put in the DVD and just followed the install prompts (if that is what you are asking).

So you bouht the retail version of hidden springs ? As far as I'm aware, that is a code that you redeem a the store and then you'll find the world in your purchase history to download and install.

Is that what you did ?

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. No, the game itself was purchased retail, but the download of hidden springs is through the sims3 website. It was not letting me download (the launcher would freeze). I just tried downloading from the site without having the game initiated and that seems to be working.

    Yeah, sometimes communication is difficult.

    Glad it works now.
