Can't install sims 3 because it's already installed.

Hello people~

I could use some help, a few years ago I bought the sims 3 but last year I deleted it because I didn't really play much anymore and needed some space on my laptop, a month ago I wanted to play again but I couldn't find my disk so I downloaded the sims3 from a site (sorry guise, I used my own key though) but after a while I deleted it again because it was kindof bugged since it was a downloaded version.

Now I bought the recent humble bundle and wanted to install the sims again but everytime I try to install it it says there already is a version installed, which is impossible because I deleted everything.

printscreen (sorry, it's Dutch, but it basically says I already have the Sims3 installed and I have to delete the older version)

I've looked on the forums and tried everything what people suggested me to do, but nothing worked. Please help me because I'm craving to play the sims again haha ;~;

Denise~

    >_<  what a nuisance for you , the only other thing to do is a system restore or a complete restore of your computer BUT don't do anything yet i'm going to post your issue in the helpers corner as someone else may have a solution for you

    I have to agree with rumbutter. I would do a system restore or complete reinstall of your system. When you downloaded that version you shouldn't have, there's no way of telling what that installed where. The registry keys can be named differently but the game still finds them.

    I would reinstall the system and put it down as lesson learned.

    Sorry I don't have another suggestion for you.
