b99a77017090a370 This is a known issue with the 64-bit Mac version, and sometimes there's no fix. (It's been reported to EA, but I don't have any information beyond that.) But sometimes there is a fix, or a workaround, so it's worth doing a little troubleshooting first.
Please move the Sims 3 user folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. Clear the EA App's cache:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
and repair the game (EA App > Sims 3 > Manage > Repair). Then open the launcher to create a new user folder and try to download one item. Keep in mind that moving your old user folder will have removed, but not deleted, your saves and other data, but you can put that back later.
If that doesn't help, please create a new admin user account on your Mac. Don't link it to your Apple ID. Clear the App's cache and repair the game again, then try to download one Store item.
