Can't log in to my old account, ea isnt recognizing my old purchases

Can't log in to my old account, lost all my ownership of the game apparently, even though I have hours and hundreds of dollars sunk into the sims 3

 went to log in to my old account to see what sims 3 content I had before I looked at the sale, but EA made me make a new account with the same email that I used to purchase the game in 2008 or so, and now everything is missing. How do I get my stuff back?
