So I’ve downloaded a bit off CC for my sims 3 and I have installed it into my game. It shows that it is thier in my installs and downloads but every time I go on my game and create a sim my CC doesn’t show up. I’m using a MacBook btw

    @Splotchish Sims 3 CC that comes in .package format is usually installed into The Sims 3\Mods\Packages\. Only .Sims3Pack files are placed into the Downloads folder, and then installed through The Sims 3 Launcher.

    Hi! I’m having the same issue. I don’t understand what is going on with my sims 3 and it’s really getting on my nerves. I deleted all of the cache and I opened up the game again and I don’t see any of my custom content popping up. Can someone please help, immediately?

    @taenbro

    1. Is your Mods folder located in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ ?

    2. Does it have these items inside: 2 folders (Overrides and Packages), and 1 file (Resource.cfg)?

    3. If your mods are in .package format, they are usually installed into the Packages folder. If they are .Sims3Pack format (usually Custom Content), they are placed into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads\ and installed through the launcher.

  • Yes I am i in the right location. When I go to my mods folder the only thing in there is packages, I don’t see resource.cfg nor do I see overrides like I used to.

    @taenbro That's probably the issue. Download the Mods folder setup that puzzlezaddict linked in post #23, move your mods into that and check if they show up in-game.

    @taenbro  You don't need an Overrides folder, unless you download a mod that's specifically supposed to be placed there, but you do need a resource.cfg.  You can get one in the instructions for installing mods on the NRaas site or at Mod the Sims.  Make sure to extract it—it downloads as a .zip—before placing it in the Mods folder.

    Be sure to delete the five cache files (again) when you're done:

    CASPartCache.package

    compositorCache.package

    scriptCache.packaage

    simCompositorCache.package

    socialCache.package

    Okay, I will do these steps that you both have told me to do and I will be back.
