Consignment/Elixer store glitch

I can neither buy nor sell anything in the Consignment store or the Elixir store. When I click on the register there is no buy option. When I click on the clerk there is a buy interaction, but my sim merely talks to the clerk and the buy/sell window never appears.

I have never consigned anything in this save file, so it is not the glitch with negative days. I have read somewhere that travelling can affect the consignment store, and my sim has been to all three vacation spots in the past few sim weeks.

I have tried deleting and replacing the stores and the registers.

Is there a patch specifically for this glitch or does anyone have any suggestions?

    I forgot to add, there are no updates when I open the game launcher so I assume my game is fully up to date.

    Hiya,

    As for soloution 1, I have not been able to sell anything at the consignment store so there are no items with negative days.

    I have also tried soloution 2 with no sucess.

    And as for installing the overwatch mod, I am a little wary of installing mods that arent EA created or approved as I worry it might affect other aspects of the gameplay...

    Maybe going on vacation again helps.

    The only other solution I have is to save your family to the bin and move to a new town but that might not work either.
